The first day of school

 Hi everyone! Today I will be writing about my first day of school.

1. Getting ready

I have to wake up at 5:45 in the morning to go to school. Then I get into my uniform.

I had my backpack packed the day before. I go downstairs to eat my breakfast. Then I go brush my teeth and comb my hair. I fill my water bottle. I have about five minuets until I go to the bus so I go to the bathroom. It is now 6:55 am. It is time to go to the bus.

2. The bus

The bus is big. It has mostly high school kids. There is not that much leg room under the seats. There are 2 seats so I put my backpack on the other seat. There is air conditioning on the bus, which is nice. The seatbelts didn't work  : ( . The bus ride was pretty good. It was about 20 minutes.

3. Welcome

We got into school. I almost got lost because my school is so big. People that arrive to school early get to play or go to the library. My classroom is on the second floor. The whole grade is in the giant room but the giant room has three separate classrooms. In the middle there is a break space, where the whole grade can hang out. We got to take our shoes off. First we did attendance. Then we did some stuff to know each other.

4. Snack

Snack was 20 minutes which I thought was weird at first, but it is also a mini recess. For snack they had small sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables. I only ate a sandwich because the fruit and vegetables were raw. I don't trust cut fruit or veg yet. Snack was good!

5. Lunch

For lunch I ate chicken and fries. I did not eat vegetables because today they were all raw. At lunch they have a salad and fruit bar. It is nice because you can get seconds. You are allowed to leave the cafeteria without asking.

6. Recess

For recess you can go anywhere. For example: The art room, sports fields, or the library. You can also play on the playground. I went to the library. It is pretty small, but they are building a new one that's really big. I like how quiet the library is. The playground is nice. I like how it has swings. Recess is around 40 minutes. We finished recess, did some activities, and then we went home.

Funny part: The bus lady helped me get into my seatbelt and then when we got off the bus the button didn't work so the bus was going to drive away, but I used all my strength to push the button and I got out.

My feelings: On the bus I was kind of nervous about going to school, but after 10 minutes I felt better. I was excited  because I would get new supplies and new things. I was excited because the school is really nice.
